[Our Story]

URODELIA is a reference company acting in the biotechnology field, to study the interactions between calcium phosphates and the living matter. Recently created by Nicole Rouquet and Patrick Frayssinet, Urodelia is dedicated to the production of calcium phosphates for applications mainly in the biomedical industry. The company also runs research programmes about the use of calcium phosphates in the field of oncology, gene engineering and vaccination.

The calcium phosphate ceramics manufactured by Urodelia, first found daily application in bone and joint surgery thanks to the surface properties of these ceramics. The introduction of supercritical fluids in the industry of biomaterials has enabled the company to extend its activity to infectious diseases as well as to abdominal and cardiovascular surgery.

The symbol of Urodelia is the salamander: this benchmark of tissue regeneration belongs to the order Caudata (Urodela) and is often referred to as Urodele. It is a vertebrate able, as adult, to completely regenerate an amputated limb and is the perfect living example of the role of mesenchymal cells, when applied to bone tissue engineering.
